TO THE ISSUE OF ESSENCE OF FINANCIAL INTERMEDIARIES AND THEIR FUNCTIONS
The article deals with theoretical approaches to the essence of financial intermediation. The connection between definitions «financial intermediary», «financial institute» and «financial institution» is researched. The functions of financial intermediaries and their transformation in the terms of economy’s globalization are being determined. Economic potential of different types of financial intermediaries in Ukraine is determined. The steps aimed on the strengthening of competition in the financial market of Ukraine are grounded.
