Trends in credit and deposit banking activities under current conditions have been researched. The problems of formation and realization of the credit potential of the banking system under conditions of financial and economic, as well as political crisis have been defined. The aspects of credit resources attraction have been considered, the situation concerning problematic loans has been analyzed. According to the results of the research, the ways of the credit potential saving of the banking system have been defined.
